Vitality Hotel is hiring for a Chief Engineer to lead our
maintenance team. This a leadership level role will be traveling
from property to property to support hotel openings to help staff
kick off their opening and oversee several regional properties. The
position has overall responsibility for maintaining the building,
grounds, and physical plant with particular attention towards
safety, security, and asset protection. Accountable for supporting
and starting the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative
maintenance, and energy conservation. Works with Executive Engineer
to implement strategies that will deliver products and services,
which meet or exceed the needs and expectations of guests and
associates while maximizing financial performance. Responsible for
maintaining standards and regulatory requirements. Temporarily
leads the emergency response team for all facility issues. In this
role you will be responsible for overall efficient operation of the
department while meeting employee, guest and owner expectations.
You will lead the department in supplying services to support the
entire regional operation that will maintain building, grounds and
equipment in optimal condition. Responsibilities:Ensures compliance
with state, local, and federal regulations Ensures building and
equipment licenses, permits, and certifications are current Manages
physical locations including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC,
plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems by the brand's
Standard Operating Procedures Maintains property life safety
systems (e.g., firefighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm
systems). Ensures the safety crew has a complete understanding of
all procedures, equipment, and alarms Manages and controls heat,
light, and power. Administers service contracts to support building
needs Resolves guest problems and complaints and ensures hotel
policies are administered fairly and consistently Oversees
execution of long-term preventative maintenance and 10-year asset
protection plans Supervises construction to ensure timely
completion of projects within budgetary guidelines Periodic travel
to and overseeing of regional properties Administrative: Develops
and manages Engineering budget and reviews financial reports and
statements to determine how Engineering is performing against
budget; and works with the engineering leadership team to highlight
any areas of concern Coaches and supports engineering leadership
team to effectively manage controllable expenses (e.g., wages,
heat, light, power, water consumption, tools and equipment,
groundskeeping supplies, uniforms, vendors, service agreements,
inventory, etc.) Addresses potential areas of concern and
proactively proposes solutions to management Develops an
engineering operating strategy that is aligned with the brand's
business and leadership strategy Hires, develops, engages and
manages a team of talent and ensures all employees are treated
fairly and equitably Utilizes associate feedback and maintains an
"open door" policy to identify and address employee problems or
concerns promptly. Partners with Human Resources as necessary
Ensures that regular on-going communication takes place throughout
the engineering operation to communicate daily operations
activities, set expectations, and creates awareness of business
objectives and departmental goals to produce desired results
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Experience:Experience
managing and in-depth working knowledge of all aspects of building
systems and operations, contractual maintenance, construction and
related services, and local laws and building codes pertaining to
building operations and safety Proven track record of success
facilitating progressive organizational change and development
within a growing organization Previous hotel pre-opening experience
preferred Proven ability to organize and manage multiple projects
simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead employees,
experience with HR processes as they relate to direct reports
(e.g., performance management, development, coaching, feedback,
etc.) Proven ability to be self-reliant, a good problem solver and
results oriented Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and
presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate
Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic
thinker Certifications: Level 3 EPA Certification, Fire Safety,
HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber and/or
journeyman status for electrician and carpenter preferred Physical

caustic chemicals Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma and/or
trade school course work in related field required Minimum 7 years
of progressive experience in hotel engineering role; or a 2-year
college degree and 5 or more years of related experience; or a
4-year college degree and at least 5 years of related experience 7
years related management experience Active working knowledge of
regulatory federal, state and local compliance Minimum of 5 years
of directly related experience in the operation, installation and
maintenance of hotel building systems with in-depth technical
understanding and knowledge of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing,
fire/life safety, and control systems. Professional certification
