Job Description:
Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: The receiving clerk is responsible
for of taking delivery of goods that have been authorized for
purchase or receipt by the appropriate company representative.
Responsibilities also include examination that such goods are not
obviously damaged and that all the physical counts and descriptions
of the goods match the written documentation on packing slips,
purchase orders and other shipping papers. Reports of items
received and discrepancies must be submitted on a timely and
regular basis.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONISIBILITIES:
- Accept goods for receipt and sign for such goods where there is
a corresponding purchase order for such goods and there is no
visible damage or obvious differences in the description or count
from the order.
- Report any damage directly onto the Bill of Lading from the
trucking company before the truck leaves the receiving dock.
- Receive all products into the database.
- Label all receipts with approved documentation.
- Prepare receiving reports for accounting and purchasing.
- Prepare product for return to supplier as instructed.
- Once quality approves the product, if required, properly unwrap
and dispose of transportation packaging associated with the
inventory.
- Properly store all products in their designated location.
- Stage raw film for use in production as requested for the
Coating and Laminating Department.
- Stage packaging supplies as requested for the Finishing
Department and Shipping Department (customer
requirements).ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in cycle counting activities and physical
inventories as requested by the Materials Manager.
- Maintain the 5s program at all times in the
warehouse.MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS/EMS) RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate, or assist, in identifying how the work that you do
that affects the quality, or impacts the environmental aspects of
the products or services we provide to customer(s).
- Improve your work processes.
- Write procedures or work instructions that describe your
work.
- Provide input and verify that documented procedures are
adequate and accurate.
- Understand and use your work/job instructions.
- Understand our quality and environmental policies and how they
apply to you.
- Keep records and data.
- Participate in internal audits.
- Participate in ongoing process improvement.
- Participate in external registration and surveillance
audits.DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS Diploma or GED; or one year related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Knowledge, skills and abilities: Mechanically inclined,
computer literate, read and write English, basic math skills and
able to work independently as well as part of a team.SPECIAL
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be forklift certifiedTOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
- Forklift, ComputerPHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk
or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, walk,
and sit. The employees is occasionally required to reach with hands
and arms. Must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Specific
vision required by this job includes close vision, color vision,
and the ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in
