And knowing that we have helped make a difference is incredibly fulfilling and inspiring for all of us.The General Superintendent is responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site construction activities through installation on a project or multiple projects. Monitors quality and safety in the field. Provides technical expertise and ensures work in place meets quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes, and Disney standards. Coordinate and work with contractors, operations, vendors, and governmental agencies. They will ensure that all team members are meeting the schedule, budget, and quality requirements outlined in the project scope, and will effectively manage and mitigate issues that arise internally or on the client side.This is a Long Term Project Hire role and will report to a Principal Construction Manager .You Will:Evaluates risk early in project and provides strategic expertise during pre-constructionIdentifies and monitors applicable points of coordination at multiple levelsParticipates in the hiring process of internal and external resourcesManage staff through performance plans and provides leadership, mentoring, coaching, and guidanceManage and coordinate job details between the field and officeTrain field staff in safety, work skills, and efficiencyMaintain an understanding of contract information for jobsTrack labor hours and production against stated goalsInvestigate incidents, near misses, accidents, and thefts, and provide relevant documents, photos, and assessments to the officeProficient in duties and skills required for subordinate roles.Review construction documents to ensure project accuracy and VE.Day-to-day decision-making for activities within scope. Knows when to elevate issues requiring senior leadership directionCollaborate and partner with clients, project contract administration, project manager, project architect, consultants, and other members of the teamExpect occasional domestic and international travelYou Will Have:Minimum of 10 years of field experience in applicable site development projects (attractions, commercial, residential, retail, or resort development)Strong organization and tracking skillsCollaboration and relationship buildingUnderstanding of permitting processes and experience with local jurisdictionsGeneral technical proficiency with computer and mobile-based softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skillsValid driver's license and clean driving recordAbility to handle 40-hour weeks of outdoor workConfidently working on 40 feet or more building structuresLift and/or move 60+ poundsEducation:High school degree or equivalent is required2 years of undergraduate schooling in related field of construction is preferredTechnical certifications must be included in resumeAdditional Information:This role is located in Lake Buena Vista, FL.Our Benefits: Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
