Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for:

Pulling, packing, palletizing, scanning, wrapping, and banding outbound shipments.

Physically and logistically receiving inbound deliveries and delivering them or putting them away in the proper locations.

Conducting cycle counts and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of their work area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  2. Use of hand held bar scanning devise
  3. Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas. Sorting and placing materials or items on pallets, racks, or shelves to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  4. Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  5. Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  6. Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  7. Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  8. Able to ship domestic small parcel with proper paperwork.
  9. Able to ship domestic LTL with proper scheduling and paperwork.
  10. Able to run cycle count sheets for counting.
  11. Able to track shipments domestically and report back to sales/purchasing.
  12. Have a good understanding of what documents are required for export shipments.
  13. Cross Trained in Receiving with the ability to unload and verify packing list to material and update docs to facilitate logical receiving.
  14. Ability to cycle count raw materials with understanding of rack locations in factory.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting in counting of physical inventory.
  • Sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
  • Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Wearing the proper safety equipment.

MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS/EMS) RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate, or assist, in identifying how the work that you do that affects the quality, or impacts the environmental aspects of the products or services we provide to customer(s).

  • Write procedures or work instructions that describe your work.
  • Provide input and verify that documented procedures are adequate and accurate.

  • Participate in external registration and surveillance audits.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measurements, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and shipping environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is the work environment it can be loud.
