JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Manufacturing Engineering position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving production processes in pursuit of producing the highest quality products in a safe and efficient manner. This role works closely with the cross-functional team, and interacts with customers and vendors in a challenging environment with minimal supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Design, develop and oversee procurement of process tooling and fixturing

* Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, review product design drawings for feasibility/ manufacturability and provide feedback to product engineers

* Review and develop cost estimates for new and recurring bids and proposals

* Develop and review Operating Instructions (OI s) and Manufacturing Engineering Instructions (MEEI s)

* Reside on the product Non-Conformance (NC) committee, provide dispositions and initiate Corrective Action Reports (CAR s)

* Support internal/ external audits and customer technical interchanges

* Write equipment specifications and oversee the selection and installation of new equipment and equipment refurbishment

* Provide cost estimates and complete project summaries for the annual capital budget

* Provide troubleshooting assistance on equipment such as hydraulic presses, high vacuum ovens and welders

* Perform capacity analyses

* Monitor and report process performance metrics

* Identify hazardous conditions and coordinate with Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) to resolve the condition

* Apply manufacturing engineering principles such as Lean, 5S, Value Stream Mapping and Statistical Process Control in support of continuous improvement

* Other duties as assigned

* Supervisory responsibilities include providing guidance to lower level manufacturing engineers and giving direction to technicians and operators to accomplish program objectives

* Limited travel required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Computer Skills

Solidworks

AutoCAD (preferred not required)

MS Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification (preferred not required)

Solidworks CSWP Certification (preferred not required)

Other Skills and Abilities

Hands-on mechanical aptitude

Creative problem solving

Knowledge of GD&T and the application of ASME Y14.5

Technical writing and communication

Ladder Logic including RSLogix 5000/500 and Cscape (preferred not required)

G-Code (preferred not required)

Fanuc KAREL (preferred not required) GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.

* This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.

* Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.

* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
